When I created this piece, I was thinking of survivors of violence--particularly sick and disabled queer and trans survivors of color--who face oppression on multiple fronts on a daily basis. Water can be a source of healing for achy bones or for weary spirits. "Dawn" represents survivors' new beginnings--whether that happens once or every day--towards healing transformation.

Proceeds will go towards Deaf Dawn in Washington, D.C., a nonprofit agency working to end domestic violence and sexual assault against Deaf survivors of varying identities and experiences. Thank you.
